iPhone 4S

Apple has been getting negative reviews in the press since its iPhone 4S announcement. Is this because there is so much hype around all of Apple’s pending announcements that high expectations are now inherent?

Everyone seemed to expect a complete redesign of the iPhone. The fact is, the improvements are a natural progression, and there is nothing to be disappointed about. Although the phone’s look and exterior has not changed, there are quite a few improvements.

The iPhone 4S in summary:
  • Faster processor
  • 8MP camera, plus camera software upgrade, and HD video camera.
  • Also available in a 64 GB version.
  • Siri Voice Assistant software upgrade that only runs on the iPhone 4S.

These additions were announced a few months ago:
  • Airplay (Streaming) now lets you stream anything to your AppleTV including apps.
  • iMessage lets you text to other iOS users FREE (unlimited) via WiFi including iPads so you can save a little on a text plan from your phone provider.
  • Newsstand is like iBooks for magazines, so you don’t need separate apps to read different magazines.
  • Safari has tabbed browsing now.
  • iCloud – the free 5GB cloud backup and sync.
